Did Steve Cook Take Steroids Or Is He Natural?

For those of you who have an avid interest in health and fitness, especially bodybuilding, Steve Cook should be a name that sounds familiar.

For everybody else, however, you may not be entirely sure of who Steve Cook is.

If you’re reading this, you’re no doubt at least slightly interested in working out and getting in shape, unless you’re just looking to learn random facts about a fitness competitor who is, marginally at least, in the public eye.

Building muscle is very hard, as is losing body fat.

To do both simultaneously, however, would put an individual in a very unique class of their own.

You see, only the most elite of athletes manages to build muscle and burn fat at the same time, and yes, many of them are indeed using steroids.

If you see Steve Cook for yourself, however, you’d realize just what an awesome specimen he really is.

A regular physique competitor in the IFBB, Steve Cook really is a force to be reckoned with on stage, but did Steve Cook take steroids or is he natural?

Well, that’s what we’re here to find out.

Steve has been accused of using steroids for much of his career, and if you see his physique you’ll understand why that is.

As awesome as he looks, it does beg the question as to whether Steve Cook is natural, or if he is using steroids.

Well, to get to the bottom of things, let’s take a look, shall we?

Who Is Steve Cook?

Steve Cook is one of the better-known men’s physique competitors in the IFBB, and he regularly graces the stage on the Olympia, alongside other names such as Jeremy Buendia, Mike O’hearnLazar Angelov, and Jeff Seid.

Hailing from the US, Steve is currently 32 years of age, and will turn 33 in December of this year.

He has won numerous IFBB physique contests, including the Dallas Pro, and the Junior Nationals.

His best placing at an Olympia Physique show was 5th, which was back in 2014.

Having spent much of his life in the USA, Steve quickly established himself as a bodybuilder with huge potential, even from an early age.

Steve grew up with several brothers, so there was always an element of competition there, even when they were children.

As he grew older, Steve began showing a keen interest in college football, and on the field, he quickly proved he again had serious potential.

It’s obvious that Steve has good genes as he’s a good-looking fella, his physique is awesome, and he was always very gifted athletically.

Steve began training with weights while in high school, and as soon as he showed an interest in college football, he really became big and jacked.

Today, Steve stands at 6ft 1 inches tall and weighs in at around 230 off-season, and competes at around 208 on-season.

He is sponsored by Optimum Nutrition, who are one of the biggest supplement companies in the world.

He regularly graces the pages, and often the covers, of some of the most recognised health and fitness magazines, and bodybuilding magazines, in the world and are the envy of teen bodybuilders, and amateur bodybuilders, all over the globe.

Why Do People Accuse Steve Cook Of Using Steroids?

Steve Cook has a strong online presence like many other bodybuilders, amateur and professional, and he regularly posts on his social media pages like Instagram, Facebook, and Twitter.

As informative and entertaining as his posts are, one thing you will always notice when Steve posts online, is the fact that people seem to constantly accuse him of not being natural and using steroids.

Of course, being in the public eye will result in a little trolling online, and sadly it can’t really be avoided.

The problem is that Steve Cook constantly finds people asking did Steve Cook use steroids or is he natural?

If you read the comments, no matter what he has posted about, you’ll find countless people calling him out and accusing him of using steroids, but why is this?

Well, sadly some bitter people out there resent other people for following their dreams and achieving their goals and life objectives, and try to bring them down.

Some, however, genuinely do believe that Steve has, or is, using steroids and therefore they call him out for not being honest in their eyes and for claiming to be natty when he isn’t.

If you take a look at Steve, you’ll see right away how awesome he looks.

He is over 6 feet tall and is often well over 220 pounds.

What’s more, his condition is always astonishing as he is vascular and ripped all-year long, with visible ABS even when he is bulking and is deep into his off-season.

To achieve that kind of condition is far from easy at any time, but to maintain freaky condition all of the time and to add lean muscle while dropping body fat, that is even tougher.

You can then, understand why people would accuse Steve of using steroids, especially as he competes in the IFBB, where numerous known steroid users compete.

Steve, however, has claimed to be natural on numerous occasions, and he is pretty adamant about it.

The simple fact remains that, unless you get a sample of blood and urine from Steve, and had it tested for yourself, there is no true way of knowing whether Steve, or anybody else, is natural or on steroids.

Is Steve Cook Using Steroids Or Is He Natural?

Steve Cook has claimed to be 100% natural on numerous occasions, but sadly you can’t always believe what anybody says, especially a pro bodybuilder.

Numerous pros have claimed to be natural when it has been as plain as day that they were using anabolic steroids and hormones, so you can understand some people’s trouble believing Steve.

We obviously have no idea whether Steve is or is not using steroids, but what we can do is look at some of the facts and evidence to come up with an informed opinion as to whether he is natural or on gear.

So, here’s a look at some of the evidence as to whether he is using or if he is natural.

Did Steve Cook Take Steroids Or Is He Natural

His Physique In College

When people use steroids, ordinarily you’ll see very drastic changes in their physique in very little time.

With some of the more powerful steroids out there, like Tren, Dbol, Deca, and HGH (not a steroid, we know) you’ll see people gain as much as 30 pounds of solid muscle, sometimes more, in as little as 3 – 6 weeks-time.

Steve Cook, however, has never undergone that type of physical transformation.

If you’ve been following Steve since he turned pro, you’ll know that he has looked consistently great over the years.

Sure, he’s made small improvements, but never anything too drastic.

Now, if you look for pictures of Steve from when he was playing football in college, you’ll see that he was huge even back then, and that actually he’s virtually the same size and shape now that he was back then.

Obviously, when he competes he’s more shredded, but he has never gone through any dramatic physical transformations.

This would perhaps lead people to believe that he has never run a cycle, or if he has, it would only have had to have been a very mild dosage.

He Used To Compete In Natural Divisions

Now, first and foremost, before we go any further, it’s worth noting that, even though some divisions claim to be natural, they don’t actually enforce any strict drug testing policies.

The NPC for example, is predominantly natural, but they don’t enforce a strict drug testing protocol.

Despite this, however, there is a certain degree of honesty involved and the NPC does indeed have a reputation for being predominantly natural.

Steve Cook used to regularly compete in the NPC, alongside numerous other natural bodybuilders, and when you see his physique back then, again, he doesn’t look much different to how he does now.

So, if we assume that he was indeed competing naturally, in a natural division, and that he looks now how he looked when he was ‘natural’ this shows that his physique hasn’t changed very much, and so therefore he could be natural, just like he claims.

He Isn’t Overly Big

Yes, we know that Steve Cook is a big guy, and that he’s certainly not the smallest to step on stage in the physique division.

With that being said, if you see the size that some people put on, even amateurs, when taking steroids, you’ll see just how huge people can get.

Steve stands at 6ft 1 and weighs in at over 220 pounds off-season, but in the grand scheme of things, that isn’t all that big.

If you saw him you wouldn’t be blown away by his freaky size, you’d simply think he was fairly big and that he took his diet and training seriously.

No facial changes

When people take steroids, one of the first things you will notice is that they look older in the face and that their faces tend to change shape.

And you can notice that on our articles about Bradley Martyn, Kali muscle and Calum Von Moger.

Some people’s jaws become thicker, which is due to the steroids and HGH hormones changing the shape of their physical features.

You will also notice that their faces look bloated and puffy sometimes, often when bulking, because many bulking steroids cause you to retain water and look bloated and puffy.

Steve Cook, however, has hardly changed facially since he left school.

He has a baby face and looks young and healthy.

You will also see that, even when he was off-season and bulking, in pics and videos he posted, his face looked pretty much the same as it always does, other than when he is dieting down for a show.

The fact that his face has barely changed in 10 years would also support the fact that he could very well be natural.

No Obvious Signs Of Usage

Finally, the last thing we’ll be looking at today is the fact that there is no obvious signs of steroid usage or steroid abuse.

When people use steroids, you will often notice that their voice deepens, that their hair thins, they often grow more facial hair, their shoulders and traps, blow up excessively big, and they sport acne, especially on the face and back.

Sometimes with estrogenic steroids, you’ll see aromatizing side effects like gynecomastia which is where men grow breast tissue and have puffy nipples.

Steve Cook, however, displays no real obvious signs of steroid use, and what’s more, he never has as far as we’re aware.

Sure, he has a great physique, but to be honest, that’s pretty much the only thing that could lead to people thinking that he could be using steroids.

So, is Steve Cool Natural Or Did He Use Steroids?

Again, we have no true idea as to whether or not Steve is taking steroids or if he’s natural, so this verdict is purely that of opinion.

As you can see from the evidence listed above, however, it certainly does not look as if Steve Cook is using steroids, or that he has ever used steroids for that matter.

He has an awesome physique, that’s for sure, but that’s pretty much the only real thing that people can use to assume he is taking roids.

Steve has been in great shape since his college football days, he is disciplined, he obviously has great genetics, there are no real signs of steroids, plus he has claimed to be natty and he is not freakishly big like Simeon Panda.

Because of all of this, we have to believe that Steve Cook is indeed natural and that he does not use steroids.

4 Reasons Sailing is the Best New Workout

4 Reasons Sailing is the Best New Workout

When people think workout, the last thing they probably think is sailing. This fun activity is largely regarded as a hobby or something relaxing to do, however it is much harder than people think. In fact, sailing uses strength and endurance to navigate the boat and when battling against the natural elements, it can be a monstrous work out. This team building activity can actually help you get toned whilst having fun in the sun, making sailing a fantastic sport in which you exercise without even realising!

Sailing Starts at the Heart

Would you associate sailing with being a strenuous activity? Many wouldn’t. But sailing is a brilliant (and tough) alternative way to improve your cardio. From leaving a harbour to setting the sails, you won’t find yourself sitting down or relaxing for long. Not to mention the off-boat activities like snorkelling and swimming! Engaging in tough physical activities can increase oxygen intake which can help you up your cardio game – and good cardio means stronger heart and lungs, increased metabolic rate and weight loss.

A Good Sailor Uses Their Muscles – A Lot

The hoisting of sails and trimming of sheets are good for engaging arm, shoulder and back muscles. When battling tough sea conditions and wearing bulky life jackets, it can make your workout even harder. Often when sailing, leaning over the side of the boat to gain balance when pulling sails is a common occurrence. Here is where the core muscles will engage (to keep you from falling into the sea), which is a great toning exercise. Sailing can also help build endurance, the steering and balancing tasks will have to be continually managed, keeping all those muscles engaged.

Again, sailing allows for a constant level of exercise here without your being conscious of it. You will finish your trips fatigued but benefiting from increased stamina and muscle, which only help to further increase your endurance, protect your joints, and get you closer to your target physique.

Sailing Improves Co-Ordination and Motor Skills

Operating a sailing boat can help to improve hand eye coordination and motor skills. These are essential skills which can deteriorate over time; regularly practicing or exercising your fine and gross motor skills can reduce the chances of motor problems in the future.

With sailing, a good level of co-ordination is needed to navigate the boat through sails and tying rope, but working on your hand eye coordination and motor skills development will also help you in your other sports and physical activities through enhanced agility and improved reaction times.

Mind and Body

There is something about being at sea and the sense of tranquillity that can help you relax. But more than just the beauty of the water, it has also been proven that sailing improves your mental health. In fact, the sea air has charge ions that aid in oxygen absorption helping you feel more relaxed and energised.

The other mental benefit of sailing comes from the importance of team work. When you’re under pressure and feeling drained, your team are like your personal trainers, pushing you on to succeed. Unlike a solitary workout routine, you can also develop communication skills that will support you in your everyday life. On the boat, this can range from passing ropes to each other, alerting of any hazards and using sailing terms to help navigate the boat – in real life, this translates to thinking, acting and communicating faster and more effectively.

Sailing is far from a leisurely sport; it is a brilliant workout that can help you explore and have fun whilst working your whole body – making it a fantastic way to change up your exercise routine. And if you haven’t found your sea legs yet, why not try one of my three new fitness trends to revolutionise your workout?
